Arabic, Years 1 and 2

Year 1 students of Arabic class learnt about ambition and jobs. Each student had to dress up in a simple uniform which represented their jobs in the future (what they would like to be in the future). Students were also asked to present a speech of 2-3 sentences.

Example: When I grow up, I would like to be a teacher or a soccer player.

Students became familiar with speaking in Arabic to name some jobs and write two sentences about their future job.

Year 2 students of Arabic class learnt about farm animals. Each student had to design a small booklet of 5-7 different animals. They were also asked to perform Show and Tell using their favourite toy farm animal.

Students became familiar with speaking in Arabic to name some farm animals and write simple sentence for each animal. For example, they learnt how to say, “This is a cat” or “I can see a bird”.

Students took pride in presenting their work to the class and this furthers their linguistic skills and builds confidence.
